Did you know that the greatest managers in the world do not have much in common.  They are different sexes, races, and ages.  They employ vastly different styles and focus on different goals.  But despite their differences, these great managers do share one thing, the ability to align outcomes (not processes) to the needs of the business.

  2. Where are we now?
  3. Where are we going?
  4. How will we get there?
  5. What is expected of us?
  6. What support do we need?
  7. How effective are we?
  8. What recognition do we get?
To create a fully functioning team, members need to establish ways of addressing the issues associated with these questions. Each question must be subject to continuous discussion and review through regular team learning processes. We have developed the High-Energy Teams Model as the basis for these processes.

When all these strategic issues have been addressed to the satisfaction of the team, the team will be in a 'high energy' state ready to work optimally to deliver excellent performance.

Once the teams are working, no further intervention should be needed.  Periodic maintenance is scheduled as performance is often measured by the team’s performance.
